Welcome to the Troop 22 website.

At Troop 22, we empower youth to become confident, responsible leaders through hands-on outdoor adventure and fun. From planning weekly games to organizing high-adventure trips like hiking, skiing, and backpacking, our scouts are always in the driver's seat. If you’re ready to build strong leadership skills while tackling the great outdoors, your next big adventure starts right here!

Troop 22 is a Scouts BSA troop that was started in August 2012. We are part of the Cardinal District in the Occoneechee Council, and we meet at Woodhaven Baptist Church.

Our Scoutmasters are Allen Davis (22B) and Christina Holzer (22G), and our Committee Chair is Matt Kauffman. If you are interested in joining our troop, please stop by one of our weekly troop meetings (typically Thursdays from 7pm to 8pm) or contact us for more information.

Troop 22 FAQs

What are some expectations for new members?

New members are welcome to attend our weekly troop meetings, participate in some of the monthly camping trips, and work towards earning merit badges and rank advancements. We encourage active participation, but we understand that everyone has different schedules and commitments.

Am I required to attend every troop outing or event?

Not at all. While some of the best memories, life lessons, and friendships are made on our outings, participation is always optional. We understand families have busy schedules and we will never pressure a scout to attend every event. However, we highly encourage scouts to stay as active as possible to get the absolute most out of their scouting experience!

What does it cost to join the troop?

Annual dues are $150, which covers national registration, insurance, and core troop expenses. Additional costs to plan for include the scout uniform, personal camping gear, and separate fees for specific high-adventure trips, monthly camping trips, and summer camp.
